Young Joe had an exciting week. Well, every week is probably exciting for a being who still has no concept of the cardinal numbers, the nuances of bratwurst varieties, or the vast array of insects which occupy this earth. In any case, there were a number of events of note for the young man.
On Thursday, Joe visited the doctor for the routine examination U4. This consisted mainly of undressing, measuring, weighing, ultrasounding, and making Joe cry. Apparently anything that has to do with doctors makes Joe cry. Perhaps he is more adult than we think.
| Measure | Mass(kg)[lb] | Height(cm)[in]{ft} | Head Circumference(cm)[in] |
| At Birth | 3.9 [8.6] | 52 [20.5] {1.7} | 36 [14.2] |
| 8/3/2000 | 6.9 [15.2] | 60 [23.6] {2.0} | 43 [16.9] |
The stats shown in the table above put Joey in the "short for his age", "heavy for his height", and "big brain" categories. Who could expect otherwise?
Meanwhile, Joey has decided that it's time to practice jogging. This was, of course, an unexpected development, since his previous skills development included "drooling" and "wailing." Well, okay, he's getting pretty good at gripping and page-turning of board books, but we figure those are genetically programmed. The jogging, on the other hand, consists of sitting upon one of the legs of one of us parents, such that his toes can touch the ground/couch/bed, and then 'running.' Sure, he doesn't get anywhere, but his little legs fire like pistons and his little body rocks back and forth like the unbalanced pendulum that he is, and he gets a giant smile and gives off not-so-barbaric whooops and yawps. The fact that he derives pleasure from such exercise leads us to believe that he is, in fact, somebody else's child, but we plan on keeping him in any case.
Otherwise, the nickname of the week continues to be "Moth Man," as he continues to choose to stare at the lamp in the bedroom at night instead of conversing with us, and, of course, he eats sweaters and shirts. We figure that Moth Man is one of the lesser-known superheroes with not-so-super powers. His nemesis is yet to be determined.
